Through speakers, breakout sessions and activities, you will have the opportunity for introspection on your heart leadership journey, strengthen connections with other heart leaders, and be inspired with tools that will help you to become an even better leader. Mark Miller


Wall Street Journal Best-Selling author & former Vice President of High Performance Leadership at Chick-Fil-A

Mark Miller is a seasoned executive with over 40 years of experience at Chick-fil-A, starting as an hourly team member and rising to become the Vice President of High Performance Leadership. With a career spanning various functions within the company, including establishing the Corporate Communications group and the Quality & Customer Satisfaction Team, Miller has also been integral in Restaurant Operations, Training & Development, and Leadership Development. His commitment to leadership extends beyond his corporate role, with contributions to not-for-profit organizations both domestically and internationally. A prolific author, Miller has written and co-written nine books, with over a million copies in print in over 25 languages. His writing philosophy is to distill true principles into practical applications for leaders aiming to excel in their endeavors. Miller understands the pressures of modern leadership and is dedicated to aiding leaders in navigating the complexities of performance, work-life balance, and the demands of a constantly connected world.

Adrian E. Miller


Former White House Chef, Author
James Beard Award Winner


Adrian Miller is a food writer, James Beard Award winner, attorney, and certified barbecue judge who lives in Denver, Colorado. Adrian received an A.B in International Relations from Stanford University in 1991, and a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1995. From 1999 to 2001, Miller served as a special assistant to President Bill Clinton with his Initiative for One America – the first free-standing office in the White House to address issues of racial, religious and ethnic reconciliation. Miller went on to serve as a senior policy analyst for Colorado Governor Bill Ritter Jr. From 2004 to 2010, he served on the board for the Southern Foodways Alliance. In June 2019, Adrian lectured in the Masters of Gastronomy program at the Università di Scienze Gastronomiche (nicknamed the “Slow Food University”) in Pollenzo, Italy. He is currently the executive director of the Colorado Council of Churches and, as such, is the first African American, and the first layperson, to hold that position.

He is the founder and president of the Global Youth Leadership Academy as well as the National Leadership Academy, a leading national non-profit high school leadership development organization.

Kami Welch is the President of the Arvada Chamber of Commerce. A 13-year Chamber veteran, Kami has earned a reputation for developing strategic, innovative business and community growth opportunities. Kami is a U.S. Chamber of Commerce Talent Pipeline Fellow and a board member for the Western Association of Chamber Executives (WACE) and Association of Colorado Chambers of Commerce, where she is Past-Chair. Kami also sits on community boards for non-profit organizations that focus on children, education, homelessness, and domestic violence, including Family Tree, where she is the Past Chair. Kami loves living in Colorado with her husband of 15 years and two young children, where they enjoy hiking, skiing, and exploring.

Bri Borin

Snooze, an AM Eatery


Bri Borin, Chief People and Culture Officer for Snooze, an AM eatery, is affectionately referred to as “Mother Hen” by her Snoozers and represents the heart and soul of Snooze. Raised in Wyoming, Borin began working in the hospitality industry when she was just 14 years old and came to Denver to obtain her BSBA in Business and Hospitality Management from the University of Denver’s Fritz Knoebel School of Hospitality Management. She eventually found her way to Snooze, where she started as an intern and host at the original Ballpark Denver location. Almost 15 years later, she has held a myriad of roles within the company and is as passionate about the restaurant’s mission as she was on day one. Borin believes that Snooze is about so much more than just serving up amazing breakfasts — it’s also about mindfully sourcing and preparing sustainable food, giving back to local communities, creating a sense of home for Snoozers and Guests, and allowing each Snoozer to show up authentically as their true self. She dedicates most of her free time to serving her community and sits on the board for various local non-profits and community organizations, including Urban Peak, Downtown Denver Partnership, Metro State Hospitality School, and the Community College of Denver.

Charles Fred is an American Entrepreneur and Researcher. Best known for a body of work to positively influence the success of small businesses. He has inspired a movement to help entrepreneurs create conditions for sustainable growth, and through this effort, to stimulate thousands of new jobs. In 2014, Charles Fred and his daughter, Jamee, co-founded TrueSpace, a firm that helps entrepreneurs move from the startup phase to the middle market. In February of 2020, TrueSpace, in partnership with the Gallup Organization, announced the release of a multi-year research effort detailing the operating conditions that must be present for a small business to consistently reach the middle market. Over his nearly 40-year career, Charles has founded and led three companies into the middle market generating over $220 million in enterprise value. He is a long-time resident of Colorado, an elite masters distance runner, outdoor enthusiast and cancer survivor. He and Julie, his wife, dedicate much of their time with their family, mentoring young people and entrepreneurs, and giving back to the community.

Jeremy Edmonds is the Vice President of People and Culture for Snooze, an A.M. Eatery. His love for people, process and the employee experience led him to his career in Human Resources. Jeremy’s relentless pursuit of the best of the best employee experience and passion for culture has been a driving force throughout his career. After spending 11 years in talent recruiting, Jeremy turned his focus toward the science of engagement, and has built a career as a thought leader in the culture, performance development, and leadership space. Jeremy serves on the board of directors for The Snooze Compass Foundation and Heart and Hand, a Denver based non-profit that connects students with afterschool programing that helps them with homework, exposes them to new passions and provides a healthy dose of love. Jeremy also proudly serves on the advisory board for FSR and QSR magazines. Throughout his career, Jeremy has been a champion for diversity, leading multiple programs focused on the acquisition, development, and employee experience for underrepresented employees. Being a foodie at heart with a love for all things food and beverage, he is thrilled to spend his days creating moments and experiences for Snoozers across America! In his spare time, Jeremy loves to read, cook, travel with his family, and can be found frequently hanging out in Sleeping Beauty’s castle at Disneyland.

Christin Powers is the Director of Sourcing + Sustainability for Purely Elizabeth. Based in Boulder, CO and founded in 2009, Purely Elizabeth is a high-growth natural foods company focused on creating products using elevated, nutrient-rich ingredients in their granola, oatmeal, and cereals. Originally from South Carolina, Christin moved to Colorado in 2010 starting her journey in the natural foods industry. Christin’s career passion is continually pursuing how brands, like Purely Elizabeth, can build partnerships directly with farmers and begin to understand how we can improve the industry for our farmers and consumers.

Diana Ralston Hicks

Can’d Aid


Diana Ralston is a veteran non-profit leader and the Founder and Executive Director of Can’d Aid, a nationally recognized, publicly funded nonprofit. Diana has dedicated her career to purpose driven work. Her impact is well known in Crested Butte where she was a founding member of The Trailhead Children’s Museum, served as the Program Director for the Center for the Arts, and the Executive Director of the Crested Butte Arts Festival. After Crested Butte, Diana got involved in the craft beer industry working as the Sponsorship Director for Oskar Blues Brewery. When the 2013 Colorado flood struck the small town of Lyons, and the birthplace of Oskar Blues, Diana put her penchant for volunteerism and charity to work and Can’d Aid was born. She teamed up with Oskar Blues founder Dale Katechis and the craft beer industry to provide canned drinking water to those in need, as well as leading grassroots efforts to rebuild communities devastated by the flood. For the past decade, Diana has effectively activated people from all walks of life, building a movement of passionate do-gooders and creating deep impact across the country. Through her unconventional and entrepreneurial approach to giving back, she continues to evolve the way people think about philanthropy. Fueled by people power, Can’d Aid demonstrates how big, out of the box thinking can lead to great things for our communities.

You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers:

What is the schedule? If I’m coming from out of town, when should I arrive and depart?

Check-in starts on Sunday January 21st at 1pm! Summit ends at the conclusion of the mibe Awards Ceremony Tuesday evening on January 23rd. More details to come!

Where should I stay?

While there are plenty of options in and around the Denver metro area, we have room blocks at The Origin Hotel, which is 10 minutes away from our facility, and Hilton Garden Inn just down the road!

Our favorite local hotel features modern accommodations and a Special Group Rate when you book through MIBE! The last day to book with the room block is December 25th, 2023!
