What’s on your schedule?

THANKS APRIL, HELLO MAY

A huge THANK YOU to April for the “Takeover” of the MIBE Message last month.  She says, “Hi, don’t forget about me, and for goodness-sake, drink plenty of water.” It was awesome to see how many of you were engaged with the weekly challenges! Going an entire week without sugary treats was a tough one for me, but I was able to prove to myself that I have the willpower to avoid the temptations, and I’m motivated to cut back on my dessert consumption!  I hope you are inspired to carry a few of the healthy habits forward that served you, and continue to make a positive difference in your life.

LOOKING AHEAD

This year I have been focused on adding margin to my life.  I had written about this toward the end of last year and how it was something missing from my life.  As a chronic over-scheduler, I would previously pack as many meetings, calls, and appointments into my day until the white space on my weekly calendar all but disappeared.  I’ve been mindful over the past few months to limit the meetings I take each day, allow more time between meetings, and prevent cramming before and after my travel and time out of the office.  It hasn’t been perfect, there is still the third Wednesday of each month when I have multiple recurring meetings and go non-stop all day, but for the most part, it has been refreshing to have more space on my calendar.  I’ve been able to be better prepared for the meetings I do have, be more present when the meetings are taking place, and I get to take time to reflect after the meetings on what transpired and what I will do moving forward.

This process has caused me to be very intentional about what I put on my calendar.  I’m constantly checking with myself to see if the requests I get align with my core values. Do they help move me closer to achieving my big goals?  Do I get fired-up with excitement thinking about it?  When I look through that lens, it makes scheduling and planning a lot easier because I have clarity on saying “yes” or “no.”  So, in the spirit of planning and scheduling, I am excited to announce the dates for our upcoming calendar of events at MIBE.  Hopefully one or more of these have a place on your calendar, we would love to see you!

Aug 5-6th, 2024: The return of our Heart Leadership Workshop

This two-day experience is designed to help you gain clarity around the leader you want to be.  Limited to 75 attendees, the MIBE team will take you through exercises and interactive sessions to help you learn more about yourself and become an even better leader. For those of you who have attended before, we are modifying the schedule slightly, however the curriculum will largely be the same, so it is a great opportunity to send a fellow team member.  Registration is open now, and you can take advantage of early-bird pricing!

Fall 2024: Owners Retreat (aka Adventures with April)

This brand new program will launch later this year in Huatulco, Mexico.  An intimate gathering of 10-20 owners will be immersed in the culture of one of the most eco-friendly tourist destinations in Mexico.  Over 4-5 days, the group will have access to curated culinary and adventure experiences, and take part in business discussions about leadership, impact, and legacy.  To be one of the first to learn about the details, go here to join our interest list.

January 26-28, 2025: The 2025 MIBE Summit

Our largest annual gathering of heart leaders will once again include world-class speakers, intimate breakout discussions, and the MIBE Awards celebration party.  Staying true to our name, we are already working to make this even better and more impactful than last year.  We can’t wait to welcome you back if you have attended before, and if you haven’t been yet check out this video to see what you’ve been missing.  Save the date now, registration will open later this summer!

Anthony Lambatos

The Coach — This guy is easily the best-dressed due at the office. Anthony is also the only gentleman who wears a suit in the office, so it comes as no surprise. In addition to dressing well, he’s a master of organizational management. And Excel spreadsheets. If there’s anyone who can get you excited about pivot tables, it’s him! Although he studied business and marketing at the University of Oregon, Anthony received his Ph.D. in running a company at the School of Hard Knocks. As early as he can remember, Anthony was involved in the family business. And now, after years of experience in the good, the bad, and the ugly, he knows how to handle any situation. His leadership, patience, and desire to make those around him better is why we call him The Coach.
